Group Ministry centred, where possible around larger centres of population:

  • Carrick (8), Mohill (6), Longford (7), Ballymahon (5), Edgeworthstown (4), Granard (8), Athlone (8), Ferbane (7).

New Groupings (Centering):

  • Killenummery, Keadue, Drumshanbo, Kiltubrid, Kiltoghert, Annaduff (8)
  • Fenagh, Mohill, Bornacoola, Gortletteragh, Cloone, Aughavas (6)
  • Dromard, Gowna, Colmcille, Mullahoran, Ballymachugh, Abbeylara, Granard, Clonbroney (8)
  • Killoe, Drumlish, Clonguish, Longford, Killashee (7)
  • Cashel, Rathcline, Ballymahon, Carrickedmond, Kenagh (5)
  • Edgeworthstown (Mostrim), Rathowen, Streete, Legan, Ardagh (4)
  • Athlone, Moate (8)
  • Ferbane, Clonmacnois, Cloghan, Ballinahown (7)

(Highlighted parish to be Centre; number of priests per grouping in brackets).

Group Ministry:

  • Grouping to be run as a big parish, priests having their own areas, living in the area, but working as a team in the whole 'parish' as in Athlone.
  • A group leader/administrator/co-ordinator to be appointed.
  • Duties and responsibilities to be shared.
  • Focus on ministry rather than supply of Masses.
